I love applesauce as many know. And everyone apparently love my go-to applesauce recipe because it’s easy and fast. I also LOVE peaches. And even when they aren’t in season, I make them anyway (I use frozen) as they create an array of options to enjoy from breakfast to dessert. First, peaches kick up the already amazing applesauce and peach compote on its own is a flavorful comfort food I just adore. You can make this recipe solo — Peach Compote on its own, or combine it with apples to create a lovely peach applesauce. Personally, many recipes call for sugar but I never use it as the fruits are sweet on their own. If you need a little extra sweetness, you can of course add sugar, or honey or some natural Stevia.

Whatever you’re adding to the base, the flavors kick up other dishes, too. For instance, I add peach compote to my Instant Pot Oatmeal made with chia seeds and serve it warm for breakfast. I sometimes add nuts and other fruit when the mood strikes.

PrintInstant Pot Peach Compote & Peach Applesauce
Peach Compote – create a variety of recipes from this easy side dish from breakfast to dessert. The recipe below is for Peach Compote AND Peach Applesauce. Read the directions as the cooking times vary slightly.
Ingredients
Peach Compote:
6–8 medium or large peaches or 2–3 bags of frozen sliced peaches. I use 10 oz bags when using frozen)
Juice from 1/2 a fresh lemon
Cornstarch – optional. I like the consistency without
1/2 tsp vanilla
A pinch of cinnamon – optional (I love cinnamon in everything so, omit if you don’t.)
2 TBS water
Instructions
Add everything to the Instant Pot and close the lid
Set the valve to SEALED.
Set button to High Pressure for 1 minute and do a quick release
Stir the mixture until thick or add cornstarch if you need to thicken it up.
Serve warm or cold.
Peach Applesauce:
Add the ingredients do the same as above except cook on high pressure for 4 minutes and do a quick release.
Remove the ingredients and put in a food processor or blender.
Pulse until it’s the texture you like.
Serve warm or cold.
Add peach compote to oatmeal, or serve with non-fat yogurt or enjoy as a side dish.
